Here is info on my research project
Life:
- Born: 1966, San Francisco, CA. Lived in UK since 1980 or so. Got a degree in Civil Engineering from Birmingham University and a Master's in Water Resources Technology from same. Came up to Lancaster University in 1995...
Hobbies:
Caving: Nothing better than messing about in caves. It also makes ordinary things like sitting down and having a cup of tea sheer luxury! Background pic shows a caving friend of mine standing on a large pile of bat guano in an Australian cave here
Diving: I'm PADI trained, but a shortage of funds means that I mainly go snorkeling in the Lune and frighten the fish, as the bloke who had leant me all his old diving kit moved to France...
Links:
Misc
Nottingham University's satellite picture archive -an excellent source of info, updated several times a day. The file C2D.JPG is the visual image for NC Europe and D2.JPG its IR equivalent. Check out the heavy heavy supercell storms over Africa's Gold Coast when you get the time...
The 'Lectronic Telegraph - good info and it isn't owned by Rupert Murdoch, even.
Caving
Caving in the UK Andrew Brook's excellent caving web server at Dundee University, with links galore...
Chelsea Speleological Society
The best caving club in South Wales! I've been a member for several years and the club is very active, especially in the BCRA Grade 5 survey of Ogof Draenen...
This guy used to be a dentist... now he's juggler and an old friend from Birmingham University Speleological Society (BUSS)
Messing about in books:
Amazon.com A US based server and commercial site that has probably the most comprehensive book catalogue on the net...
Waterstones The Web site of the large UK chain. Does not have as large a selection as Amazon, but you get your books pretty fast...
