Jake is going to be working on developing the DGT technique for the determination of technetium-99, strontium-90 and the isotopes of uranium and plutonium in contaminated groundwater.

Before starting his PhD research Jake completed his BSc in Earth and Environmental Science at Lancaster University in 2008 and then spent the following year working as an environmental analyst at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology. Jake is also a keen rock climber.
