Oxidant and Particle Photochemical Processes
above a South-East Asian tropical rain forest
The OP3-Danum-08 consortium consists of 23 PIs and co-PIs from eight UK institutions
(seven Universities and one NERC laboratory), representing >50% of the constituent members
of the NERC Distributed Institute for Atmospheric Composition. It includes two Fellows
of the Royal Society and many other internationally recognised researchers and leaders
in the field of biosphere – atmosphere interactions and atmospheric chemistry.
The Consortium
partners include the Malaysian Meteorological Department,
Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Yayasan Sabah and other internationally recognised
research leaders in the field from the USA and Europe.
The project will contribute to
the activities of the EC Network of Excellence "ACCENT" and will utilize the
NERC Facility for Airborne Atmospheric Measurements research aircraft and a Global
Atmospheric Watch station, with 100 m research tower, in an undisturbed rainforest
in Sabah Malaysia.
