19th/20th January:   Walking in Borrowdale

It’s always nice to get away to the Lakes in Winter, so we’re having another weekend based at the Fell and Rock hut in Rosthwaite. Contact Anne and Ken if you want to come, so we can book some beds.

Sunday 3rd February:   Caving in the Dales

Relive your lost youth with a trip down Calf Holes. (We cycled past recently, and got quite excited!) Start at Bernie’s at 10.30 if you want the full nostalgia kick (or want to hire a light and helmet from Inglesport). The plan is to drive up to the entrance for 12 noon. Bring a harness and descender for the short entrance pitch if you still have them.

2/3rd March:   Birthday Special!

Dave Brown turns 60 (yes, 60) at the end of February, so he’s arranged a birthday weekend at John’s house in Riddlesden, where there is plenty of space for fun and frolics and options for sleeping indoors or out. Come for the weekend, or at the very least come for the party on Saturday night. Not to be missed!

23rd /24th March:   Mountain Biking at LLandegla

Mountain biking in the forest, with trails at all grades. You are invited to Howard and Jo’s for Saturday night. Howard says: “5 people get a bed after that it is camping or sharing with the horses or chickens” so let him know! LLandegla is about 10 miles north of Llangollen, H+J’s place house is at Froncysyllte, about 5 miles east of Llangollen. (Llangollen is near Wrexham!)

Venue to be decided nearer the time, but probably Lakes or Dales. This will be off-road riding in the countryside, rather than on prepared trails.  Contact Anne and Ken

Sunday 12th  May:   Climbing in Derbyshire

Get out on the grit – sunshine has been booked. Crag to be decided later. Contact Anne and Ken

29/30th June:   Camping in North Wales

Join Ken and Anne, walking, climbing, and possibly biking in Wales. The Marin is an extensive biking trail in the woods near Betws, or there are other off-road routes. We plan to camp at Dolgam campsite, between Capel Curig and Betws y Coed, (GR 745575)

13th/14th July:   Langdale

We started with Winter in the Lakes, so we’ll finish with Summer in the Lakes. Camp at Baysbrown (Chapel Stile), stay at the Fell and Rock hut (Rawhead), or just come for the day. Let Anne and Ken know if you want to stay in the hut, so we can book some beds. Ken and Anne (01200 425842)
