SLUGS Newsletter – March 2002

The scattering of Angus’ ashes, long delayed by the foot-and-mouth restrictions, took place on 24 February on the shore of Loch Tulla, north of Bridge of Orchy. We chose a little promontory with a stand of larch trees, a beautiful and peaceful spot. Grid ref. NN 28054185; stop off and remember him if you’re passing by on your way up to Glencoe and beyond.

We have booked a function room at the Bull i‘th Thorn, about 5 miles south of Buxton, on the A515 Buxton-Ashbourne road. 1st (or 2nd?) pub on the left in the middle of nowhere, about a mile and a half beyond the last of the limestone quarries. Sue I’Anson will be sending round booking forms and menus in due course, but put this in your diaries now and let’s see how many Slugs we can gather in one room. We need to think about entertainments - a Tresviso 2000 slide show? Sketches? (some are writing them already) Songs? Music - we can provide our own.
