We had a good response from people paying their subs, so were able to
continue with the BMC membership, and our funds are in a healthier state. I
(that’s Dave, not Sue or George) enjoyed getting those little notes and
letters from those of you who responded.

EVENTS - SUMMER '99
 
May 1-3  Bank Holiday Hut – Whiteburnshank in Kidlandlee Forest,
Northumberland National Park. G.R. 898123. All mod cons, for £5 per night.
Hut open from Friday afternoon; access by car, for details contact Dave
Brown on 0161 248 4538, who will send you a map with directions. Great
weekend for walking, mountain biking, visiting the coast or lazing about.
 
June 26-27 Party at Phil and Rosie’s. Plenty of beds/floor space/garden for
tents. Program : Saturday meet at Bernie’s 10.00am for walk or caving trip.
Party at #### ###### from 7pm. Sunday, University visit to
reminisce, swimming, Bars, Ruskin library. RSVP for map/details #### ######
 
July 3-4 Open house at Sarah & Roo’s place near Penrith, Cumbria. Large
house for accommodation or camping in the garden. A B-B-Q is planned,
opportunities for walking or cycling, utilising the Settle to Carlisle

August 11-  See the Eclipse at Jeanne Holman’s in Cornwall. Large house
with plenty of spare bedrooms and space for camping. Jeanne will
accommodate for people arriving the weekend prior to the eclipse. Contact

September 18-19 Alstonefield, Derbyshire. Camp behind the George pub, G.R.
132555. Climbing, walking, cycling.
