SLUGS Newsletter – April 2000

Having drawn the short straw, I hope I can follow in the footsteps of the illustrious Dave Brown and his predecessors and provide a feast of activities for the remainder of 2000 and beyond. The big event of the year is of course the take-over of Tresviso village by hordes of Slugs. This is the subject of a separate missive from Chris Baxter, and you can also visit the T2000 website on <http://www.silverlime.freeserve.co.uk/tresviso/>, which is updated incessantly.

News:

Allen Williams has got engaged to Cora, and they’ll be spending their honeymoon in Treviso. Chris and Anne had a baby boy on 23 March (un-named at the time of writing). Congratulations to all four.

Subs:

Subs for 2000 are now due – £3 for singles and £5 for families. Moneys to me, Phil, please (used fivers in a Harrods bag preferred).

Jes Petersen is considering a caving trip to New Mexico at Easter 2001. More details later.

2001 May Day Bank Holiday: cycle from Dalwhinnie to Culra Bothy, climb Ben Alder with Meg and Pete.

For those interested in caving (remember doing that?), DC and Colin have a squalid dig going at the bottom of Little Hull Pot and will welcome any assistance.

E-mail:

I’m trying to get as many Slugs’ e-mail addresses as possible - it cuts down on the mailing costs and delays in receiving the newsletter. So let me know if you’re on e-mail. That’s all for now.
