Analysis of the North East Cluster.
In the northeast of the England there is a 'cluster' of three stations that are located very close together, these are Bishop Auckland, Consett and Stokesley (see map below). Analysis has been carried out on the results form these stations to ascertain whether or not they are in fact a valid cluster.
These three stations have been analysed together along with the data from Lancaster's Hazelrigg station and in theory, if these stations are a cluster, their results should correspond to each other more than they correspond to the data from any other station in the UK, Lancaster's Hazelrigg station is being used as this reference station.
Three main analyses have been carried out to test the validity of this cluster, these are:
2. An analysis in the cluster of the days where contrails occur.
3. An analysis between the stations, both in and out of the cluster, of days when contrails occur.
